About the Creator

Educated Doses was founded by Eqbaal Farah, a Senior Counselor, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), and Master of Social Work candidate with a deep passion for prevention, education, and youth empowerment.

Eqbaal brings both clinical expertise and real-world experience to her work. As a Senior Counselor, she has worked closely with individuals and families impacted by substance use, gaining firsthand insight into how addiction develops—and more importantly, how it can be prevented. Through her work in treatment settings and community education, she recognized a critical gap: many young people are not receiving prevention education in a way that is engaging, culturally relevant, and grounded in real-life experiences.

That realization led to the creation of Educated Doses—a program designed to go beyond traditional lectures and instead provide meaningful, interactive, and science-based education that truly resonates with students.

Eqbaal believes prevention should start early, be honest, and empower youth—not scare them. Her goal is to help students understand:

To educate, empower, and equip youth with the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy decisions and prevent substance use.
A future where every young person has access to prevention education that is engaging, relevant, and life-changing.

A Message from the Creator

“I created Educated Doses because I’ve seen firsthand what happens when prevention comes too late. My goal is to reach young people early—before substance use begins—by giving them the knowledge, confidence, and tools to make informed choices. This work is not just my profession, it’s my passion.”
